Debonee's office is located inside the historic High House, built in 1830. Deb's room is on the second story, facing the street. Her office also has access from the second story porch.
Scheduling
All scheduling in the portal is set up for you to be able to choose "Virtual" or "Decatur - High House". As always, I work only virtually on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
Parking
As Debonee's clients, you are permitted to park in the gravel lot behind the house. Please enter the lot via the one-way gravel driveway from Sycamore, to the right of the house (as you're facing it) (look for the white picket fence). This winds around behind the house, and you can find a place. Exit via North Candler Street, (near the red sculpture). Parking is not guaranteed, so if your appointment is at a popular hour, please give yourself time to find street parking. (Usually pretty easy on this part of the street.)
Can I take the MARTA train?
Yes! Ride to the Downtown Decatur station. As you walk out of the station (toward Church Street), you walk straight ahead and you'll be on Sycamore Street. Walk on the right side of the street - you'll pass the church, the library and the Rec Center, then you'll be at the High House!
Where do I go to wait?
3-5 pm weekdays, and all day Friday: The building has a formal reception area for the entire site. Walk from the parking to the front of the building on the porch side. You'll find stepping stones leading you to the front porch. As you enter, you'll find yourself in the waiting area ~ Please introduce yourself to our receptionist, the lovely Tametia. She'll let me know you're here, and send you up when I'm ready. Then you get to go up the beautiful spiral staircase (very cool!). My office is the second door to your left, it will be open, and you're welcome to come in.
5-7 pm weekdays: The front door will most likely be locked after 5:00 pm, but you have several options. - 5:00 pm people: Arrive early to make sure you can wait in the reception area before they lock the door. - If the weather is amenable, you are welcome to wait on the outside porch (there are rocking chairs and a bistro table and chairs). My office has an exterior door, so I can admit you from the porch. - If you prefer, you can wait in your car. I'll text at the top of the hour, and you can come up the outside stairs.
Coffee, Tea & Water?
Refreshments will now be located in the therapy office itself. You can help yourself as we get settled.
